Job Description
A leading Insurance Company is looking for Manager (Life Insurance) as per the following details:
Job Purpose:

• To provide leadership, support and guidance to the life underwriting, technical production and reinsurance operations and to ensure that the team complies with the goals, objectives and standards of the company in terms of customer satisfaction, technical profitability and operational efficiency.
• To uphold the company’s policies and conform with the department work instructions

Primary duties performed:

• Manages the daily life underwriting, technical production, and reinsurance operations.
• Monitors, analyzes and enhances the production of the department; and prepares periodical executive reports to line-manager.
• Directs communication with reinsurers including treaties authoring and implementation.
• Manages and monitors the implementation of the best underwriting techniques and practices that will ensure portfolio growth while maintaining profitability.
• Develops products and processes in line with the strategic company objectives.
• Supports and assists underwriters in complex schemes.
• Maintains order and ensures punctuality and professionalism of the operational staff.
• Oversees staff development including recommending training courses, coaching and motivating.
• Improves the operation continuously to achieve results and outperform competition.
• Ensures thorough communication and coordination with all relevant departments and external entities to satisfy all departmental tasks effectively.
• Copes effectively with workload and deadlines by setting plans, prioritizing, and efficiently using resources.
• Maintains and develops relationships with key partners including reinsurers, actuaries, brokers, and major customers.
• Assists in any other capacity as required by the management.

Qualification and experience required:

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business, Finance or Mathematics.
• Eight or more years of related work experience including group, individual and unit-linked life insurance.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft office suite.
• Good computing knowledge including management and utilization of IT systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of underwriting philosophy and risk pool management.
• A continuous learner who encourages others to learn.
