Job Description
A leading Kuwaiti Insurance Company is looking for Manager - Property & Casualty as per the following details:

Job title: Manager
Reports to: Senior Manager / Deputy CEO (Operations)
Department: Property & Casualty

Job Purpose:
• To assist the line manager in managing the operations of Property and Casualty Department ensuring that business is conducted as per the company's policies, guidelines and best practices to achieve maximum profit.

• To uphold the company’s ethics, operating policies and conform with the department work instructions.

Primary Duties Performed:

• Assists the line manager in executing company goals and objectives.
• Preforms risk assessments; determines risks rate, terms and conditions for all Property & Casualty lines in accordance with corporate guidelines and policies.
• Performs portfolio analysis and ensures adequate control measures in place to meet Company underwriting standard, risks appetite, and loss control measures.
• Actively involves in satisfying the department clients and meeting their legitimate requirements.
• Production improvement and profit-making for the department.
• Preforms all kinds of technical and statistical analyses to department books of business and share the same with the line manager.
• Proposes rectification course of action to budget deviation and production improvement.
• Assists the line manager in planning department budget “short and long term”, and measures and adjusts deviations when needed.
• Insures agreed budget execution.
• Handles Inward Facultative references for taking share based on merits and de-merits and Capacity in accordance with Corporate Policies/guidelines.
• Analyzes and evaluates risks proposed for insurance by applying risk assessment measures and to decide terms and conditions to ensure profitable operations.
• Reviews and analyses facultative reinsurance terms and conditions offered by facultative reinsurers on treaty renewal/facultative reinsurance.
• Guides and provides technical support to branches, if and when required.
• Reviews existing products, proposes appropriate modifications and recommends new products to the management in order to keep abreast of the prevailing market trends.
• Determines or helps determine company policy, and explains complex technical matters to department subordinates, company executives, clients and/or the public.
• Establishes and maintains relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor the operation of the department.
• Coordinates with Finance, Risk Management, Legal and Internal Audit departments to satisfy the regulatory requirements from time to time.
• Assists in recruitment, selection, deployment, training and development of staff in coordination with the line manager.
• Establishes and maintains effective liaison with brokers and clients in order to promote business relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Coordinates with the brokers/sales executives/clients on day to day basis regarding their requests for quotations/firm orders/policy documents/endorsements and alike.
• Supervises generation of monthly reports of production upon request of the line manager/management.

• Assists in any other matters as required by the line manager.
